Wovember Campaign 2017

The 2017 Wovember Campaign started early this year with an article from one of our favourite Knit ‘n’ Natterers – Emma Ross. Emma writes about what inspires her, her knitting community and what woolness means. It’s a subject that is close to our hearts here at Knit Wise and it was very touching to hear her thoughts about the Knit’n’Natters here, which we obviously agree wholeheartedly with.

The Wovember Campaign is primarily about celebrating wool and valuing it for the amazing fibre it is. It is also about a petition to the European Parliament to have wool garments labelled correctly. At the moment, any garment can be labelled as wool, whether it contains wool or not. 100{437da79a641beddbf557819e503888f42c8d43a4ab6f92450338035fb485510f} acrylic or nylon items can be sold as wool, there is no legislation that prevents this.

Keep an eye on events and news happening within the Wovember website and interesting articles by guest writers. While you’re there, why not join the petition and we can raise the profile of this wonderful fibre together.
